General Health Standards for Children’s Ministry Classrooms:

The classrooms are for well children. We do not have the facilities or staff to give the separate, special care that a sick child may need. Your child will be more comfortable at home when sick. Thank you for your cooperation on this policy.

If your child has any of the following symptoms, we cannot accept them in the classroom:

  • Fever over 101 degrees

  • Coughing associated with respiratory infection, including the common cold, ear drainage, bronchitis, etc.

  • Runny nose with yellow or green colored discharge, or congestion associated with a cough or fever

  • Vomiting from illness within the last 24 hour period

  • Diarrhea within the last 24 hour period

  • Skin rashes or eruptions of unknown origin, including impetigo, measles, chicken pox, etc.

  • Conjunctivitis (pink eye), which may have a colored discharge or drainage

  • Parasites, any form of lice, mites, or ringworm

If your child is recovering from an illness or a communicable disease which is usually contagious, but his or her doctor say he or she is no longer contagious, he or she may return to the classroom. Please inform the person in charge of the classroom of the situation and the doctors’ instructions.

If your child has had any symptoms, please wait until the symptoms are gone before you bring him or her into the classroom. If your child returns too soon, he or she may spread the infection to other children.
