ABOUT US

OUR PASTORS

Vern Martin serves as Lead Pastor and his wife, Alicia, serves as Associate Pastor. They’re honored to lead, shepherd, and mobilize this local body of believers to impact the region.

As a church, we exist so that you would Encounter God, Experience Freedom, Connect With Others, and Change Your World! We are generous with our time, talents, and finances to ensure the message of God’s grace goes far beyond the four walls of our building. Through our commitment to the next generation, we will see families changed for generations to come.

Our Mission Statement

Mission Statement is a concise declaration of a church’s core purpose and the values that guide its work. It serves as a framework for the church’s activities and helps guide decision-making.

Encounter God

Psalm 16:11 (ESV) “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

At Grace Church, we believe the defining mark of the Christian life is the presence of God. We don’t gather merely for information—we gather for encounter. In His presence, joy is restored, faith is awakened, burdens are lifted, and lives are transformed. We intentionally cultivate worshipful, Spirit-sensitive environments because we know God still manifests His presence among His people. We pursue His presence not as a moment, but as a lifestyle—because everything changes when God is near.

“The presence of God is the central fact of Christianity.” ~ A.W. Tozer

Experience Freedom

2 Corinthians 3:17 (ESV) “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Freedom is not optional—it’s part of our inheritance in Christ. At Grace Church, we believe Jesus didn’t just save us from something, but for something: a life of wholeness, healing, and victory. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, people are set free from sin, shame, fear, addiction, and past wounds. We intentionally pursue freedom through prayer, community, truth, and Spirit-led ministry because we know God desires His people to walk unburdened and fully alive. Freedom isn’t a finish line—it’s a journey we walk together.

“It is the work of God’s Spirit to bring us into true liberty—liberty from sin, from fear, and from ourselves.” ~ John Stott

Connect With Others

Hebrews 10:24–25 (ESV) “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

We were never meant to do life alone. At Grace Church, we value authentic, life-giving relationships because growth happens best in community. God uses people to heal people, sharpen faith, and strengthen purpose. Whether through groups, serving teams, or everyday relationships, we intentionally create spaces where people are known, loved, challenged, and supported. Connection fuels encouragement, accountability, and spiritual momentum. We don’t just attend church—we belong.

“Spiritual formation happens best in community.” ~ Dallas Willard

Change Your World

Matthew 5:14–16 (ESV) “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

The Gospel was never meant to stay inside the walls of a church. At Grace Church, we believe every believer is called, commissioned, and empowered to make a difference right where God has placed them. Changed people change the world. We equip and release people to carry the love, power, and truth of Jesus into homes, workplaces, schools, and communities. Through compassion, service, generosity, and bold faith, we shine His light in a dark world. This isn’t about building a platform—it’s about advancing the Kingdom of God.

“You are the only Bible some unbelievers will ever read.”~ Attributed to D.L. Moody

What We Believe

In order to accomplish our mission statement, a set of core values were established to serve as guard rails and guide posts on our journey. They remind us of what is important and keep us rallied around a common vision. They speak to what is really important to us:
GOD

There is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three equal persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He has demonstrated His power, wisdom, and goodness by creating the world and everything in it.

JESUS

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. After His physical death, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven as the only intercessor between God and humans. He promises to personally return to earth to fulfill the eternal plan of God.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. The Holy Spirit leads believers to live a life of Christ-like character and bear fruit for the Father’s glory. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers to apply the Bible to their own lives and to do great things for Him. The gifts of the Spirit that were evident in the early church are available, through faith, for us today.

THE BIBLE

The Bible was written by men under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is for all people, in every situation. It contains no error. The Bible is the sole basis of our belief system.

MAN

Man was created in the image of God, good and upright. By voluntary transgressions, man fell into sin. His only hope of Redemption is in Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

SALVATION

The central purpose of God’s revelation in Scripture is to call people into fellowship with Him. The salvation of humanity is completely a work of God’s free grace. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, God provided salvation for the spirit, healing for the soul and body, and forgiveness of sins. Those who put their trust in Jesus and set Him in command of their lives are forgiven and made new.

HEAVEN & HELL

In this life, we have a choice to accept Christ or reject Him. After death, this decision is eternally sealed and those who have accepted Christ will be received into eternal communion with God in Heaven. Those who have rejected Him will suffer eternal separation from God in hell.

THE CHURCH

All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are united with Him as members of His body, the one true church. Scripture commands believers to gather for worship, prayer, fellowship, and the teaching of the Word; to observe baptism and communion as established by Jesus Christ; to offer service to the body through development and use of talents, gifts, and outreach to the world. The local expression of the church is wherever God’s people meet regularly in obedience to this command. Church members are to work together in love and unity for the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

HUMAN SEXUALITY

We believe a sexual relationship is only appropriate in a monogamous, heterosexual marriage covenant, and therefore should only be practiced in such. We believe that any sexual practice outside of a marriage covenant is sin. We believe that God created humankind in His image, intentionally male and female with each bringing unique qualities to sexuality and relationships. Sexuality is a wonderful gift from God to be expressed in marriage for procreation, union, and mutual delight or in celibacy in devotion to God. We believe that marriage is the union of one man (husband) and one woman (wife) through a sacred covenant designed by God to be a lifelong relationship and commitment between a husband and a wife. We will teach and uphold God’s marriage design as found in the Scriptures, but we also seek to minister to those who suffer the consequences of its brokenness. We also affirm that we are called to minister to all who fall short of God’s standards with love and compassion. (Genesis 1:27, Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 7:35, Matthew 19:4-6)
